Dimyat is an old local Bulgarian wine and table grape variety. Grapes ripen later - in the second half of September. It has strong growth, high fertility and high yield. The yield is about 20000 kg per hectare. It thrives on slopes with resin and calcareous soils, but suffers from drought. Resistant to decay, but is sensitive to low winter temperatures.
The cluster is medium (250 g), conical, sometimes with wings, semi-compact. Berries are large, oval, greenish- yellow. The skin is thin and fragile. The grape inside is juicy, tasty, fresh, with a slight vanilla flavor.
Dimyat is the source for white table wines and high quality material for cognac distillate. Dimyat varietal wines are aromatic, usually dry and harmonious.
